Real Galeria de Arte
Real de Catorce, Mexico

Featured Artist

Artist Bill Hood is a resident of Real de Catorce, Mexico. He first visited the village in 1992 and was immediately struck with tranquility of the place. After visiting many times over the years, he finally moved to Real. Hood is a professional fine artist, graphic designer and photographer. He works in acrylic, watercolor and pen and ink.

Due to a series of unfortunate and life-changing events, Hood stopped painting in 2001, although he knew one day he would again take up the brushes. After moving to Real de Catorce, Hood created a website for the village at Viva Real de Catorce which can be accessed at http://vivarealdecatorce.com online. While creating photographs of Real and the surrounding area, Hood was encouraged to start painting again and the current exhibit at Real Galeria de Arte is the result of his endeavors.

Hood works in a photorealistic manner. Most often he works from photographs to create his paintings in the studio using watercolor or acrylic. At times a subject will be better rendered in pen and ink. The works are sold online through an online storefront and at Marty Vicknair's Quemada Internet Cafe in Real de Catorce.

Enjoy!
