End of Day

End of Day

From the roof terrace of my home in Cuernavaca, I am often rewarded with sunsets that take one’s breath away. This was one of those long days where nothing was going as planned. I climbed the stairs to take a short break as the day ended. I leaned against the railing and waited for the sun to set, while I contemplated a day of strife and loneliness. As the sun moved lower into the horizon, the colors of the sky came alive with yellows and oranges with a red tinted horizon. I rushed to grab the camera to capture the moment. The piece almost painted itself, as I put brush to canvas. I was particularly pleased with this painting.
