Casa de la Cafeina

This excellent little coffee shop and restaurant is the perfect place to sit and enjoy an espresso, cappuccino or a speciality coffee, while you enjoy the free high-speed wifi and check your email and social media. Casa de la Cafeina is the only coffee shop in Cuernavaca offering Cafe Sua Da, either hot or iced.

Open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, the restaurant serves a full breakfast and sandwiches, but be sure to save room for one of the excellent and tasty desserts.

The food is tasty and reasonably priced. The outside seating under the shade of the massive tree at the front of the restaurant makes for an entertaining meal as you can view the manicured park of the Glorieta Jardines de Reforma with its trees and plants. Or, if you prefer, you can sit inside and listen to the soft music being played in the background. Unlike most restaurants in Cuernavaca, you will not find a television blaring anywhere.

At 8:30 a.m. each day, you can enjoy “The Breakfast Table,” when a group of expats from around the globe and a scattering of locals meet at Casa de la Cafeina to hold court and discuss the issues of the day and reminisce about other times. If you are a visitor to Cuernavaca and are thinking of moving to the area, this is an excellent way to meet with those who have lived here for years or even decades and will give you honest advice about living in the City of Eternal Spring. If you are in the area between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m., be sure to stop by and say hello. They love to hear from others.

Casa de la Cafeina is located on Avenida Teopanzolco, on the west side of the Glorieta Jardines de Reforma, at the intersection of Rio Tepozteco. The best barbershop in Cuernavaca is located right next door where you can get a haircut and shave, as well as a manicure or pedicure if you desire.
