Legislators Agree to Budget

Cuernavaca, Morelos -Today, Morelos legislators and Governor Adame Castillo agreed to work together to gain federal approval for a $5 billion peso budget that will continue to serve the infrastructure and social development of Morelos.

“Some of the projects will require additional federal funding and some are multi-year projects. Others have to do with the more important regional development agenda. Already, public investments are being sought for additional projects in various parts of the state.” stated the Governor during a press conference given during a workshop, attended by various federal deputies held Monday at Casa Morelos.

The Governor stated that special attention would be paid to regional development and that issues relevant to differing parts of the state will be addressed, in particular to strategic infrastructure and social development. Most importantly, the Governor addressed the need for a greater impetus on scholarships for young people as well as the issue of infrastructure, both at the Autonomous University of Morelos (UAEM), and in universities Executive Branch, as Emiliano Zapata Technological University and the Polytechnic University of the State of Morelos.

Congressman Giles Jesus Sanchez stressed that this budget does not include resources for current works, and that the intention is toward new projects.
