Bhargav Mistry – The Managing Director of Grafica Flextronica, India’s leading manufacturer and exporter of screen printing machines and allied products. He is also the Director of Dhirubhai Mistry Institute (DMI) for Print Education, Research & Training, which achieved a double hat trick in international awards in FESPA and ASDPT competitions). DMI offers short-term courses to print technology students and practical workshops on advanced screenprinting for printing professionals worldwide.
As a guest lecturer, he has presented basic and advanced screenprinting at the Government Institute of Printing Technology (GIPT), Mumbai, Pune Vidyarthigraha, Institute of Printing Technology, Pune, MIT, Manipal, SIES Graduate School of Technology/Packaging, Mumbai. Recently he also presented at the South India Printers’ Summit on the sidelines of Print Expo 2011, Chennai. He is also an educator and was one of the five global screen masters who made presentations at FESPA AMERICAS 2011 in the USA. He also conducted sessions at FESPA, Munich, in 2010.
Bhargav’s video film ‘Screen on Screen’ was screened in over 15 cities and towns all over India, thus bringing screenprinting education to the doorsteps of over 2,500 screenprinters in remote areas. He followed it up with another unique idea of imparting education through an educational campaign covering ten cities and towns. It involved carrying the whole range of screenmaking and screen printing machinery/equipment to show modern screenprinting technology in live demos. This educational campaign covered over 2,000 printing professionals from all printing processes.
All of these educational activities were/are being conducted by Bhargav free of cost at a time when ‘nothing is free’ in this world. He spends plenty of time researching and developing because screenprinting is his passion. Today, DMI has become synonymous with the Indian screen printing industry. He has inspired hundreds of screenprinters to inculcate standardization in the screenprinting process with better technology and the use of materials.
He is spearheading the movement called ‘automation’ in screenprinting in India after introducing high-quality Nano Series screenprinting machines and equipment offered at an affordable cost. Today the Nano-series machines, Nano-Print, Nano-Print plus, Nano-Screen Maker 5-in-1, Nano UV, and Nano-Sharpener have created a big storm in the Indian screenprinting industry, which has also created some interest in the Middle East, USA, and Europe, simply because these machines are first of its kind in the world with unique and ergonomic design and user-friendly features.
