The current trend towards parties where a couple announces the gender of their baby has produced a wide variety of products for the events, and, of course, the color scheme is Pink and Blue. The two colors have long represented gender, pink for females and blue for males.
Of course, there are always individuals who will take advantage of anything to advertise or earn revenue from it. And, this can lead to amazing relations between two seemingly dissimilar products – like in this instance, babies and illicit drugs.
Do not be surprised to see individuals wearing the Gender Reveal T-shirt or other products, such as a button or pink-and-blue bracelets, who are not expecting a child. These items have become widely used on a global basis and worn by those selling illicit drugs.
The color block is well known among drug dealers and police due to the screening tests used to identify cocaine and certain other drugs. You may have seen it in the movies where drugs are being tested. A small amount is scooped up and placed into a small ziplock baggie, and then when the bag is shaken, the contents turn pink over blue.
If undercover police are in a club and question someone wearing the colors, the individual simply states that they had attended a gender reveal event earlier, where individuals were showing their support for either a boy or a girl, as long as they were healthy.
It has become another example of not always being correct in our thinking.
