Villa Clara Casona

Nestled on top of a hill in Cuernavaca, Mexico, Villa Clara Casona offers peace, serenity, and tranquility. Located in the quiet residential neighborhood of Colonia Tlaltenango it is 15 minutes from downtown Cuernavaca and only an hour southwest of Mexico City with it’s exciting world renowned culture. Tepoztlan is a short 20 minute drive and Acapulco is just a few hours away, making this home very centrally located.

The seven bedroom home was originally built by the New York editor of Harper’s Bazaar magazine and was the residence of Brigitte Bardot, Louis Malle and Jeane Moreau while filming Viva Maria in 1965. Other celebrities have stayed at the home over the years and in 1968 the Olympic European crew stayed at the home. The master bath features a mural by well known artist Ramon Pratts.

The home features beautiful terraces bordering the lush lawn and swimming pool all behind an ivy covered rock wall compete with bougainvillea. The home is wired with cable television and high speed Internet access throughout. Several fireplaces including one in the library offer a cozy warmth on those nights that allow a fire to be built.

Accommodations in the main home feature a large master suite with walk in closet and large bath with shower. There are three guest bedrooms with baths. The apartment at the opposite end of the main home offers two bedrooms with two baths, a full kitchen and living area. The apartment has it’s own private entrance, gated and covered parking and a private garden and terrace with water fountain. At the front of the property is a one bedroom gate house with gated parking and a private entrance. The gate house features a private garden and terrace, sitting area, full kitchen and bath.

The home has 12,917 square feet (1,200 square meters) of construction on 21,528 square feet (2,000 square meters) of land.

This property offers luxury accommodations for those wanting an extra special vacation in Cuernavaca. The bungalow (which was where Bardot lived) contains 2 bedrooms and 2 baths; the Gate House apartment has 1 bedroom and 1 bath.
