E.L. Dutch DrehleD. L. “Dutch” Drehle – His distinguished career in 1958 with an apprenticeship position while attending college. After graduating from Colorado State University in 1961, Drehle founded Plass Container Company, a division of Colorado Serum Company, which later absorbed the shop where Drehle had been an apprentice and grew to a million-dollar-a-year container decorating company under his leadership.

Drehle later established an in-plant screen printing operation for Teledyne Water Pik in Loveland, Colorado; the operation grew to support a dozen production lines, adding membrane switch, pad printing, hot stamping, and offset printing in subsequent years.

He is also a member of the ISO TC 130 working group developing standards on four-color process control, inks, materials, and industry terminology.

In 1986, Drehle served as the Chairman of the Board for the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association and has served on the board for more than 20 years. In 1990, Drehle joined the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association staff as the Director of Technical Services and later as the Vice President of Technical Services. After moving back to Colorado, he became the Senior Technical Services Associate and is a crucial industry adviser through the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association ASSIST line.

In 1990, he was directly involved in establishing the Screen Printing Technical Foundation and has served on the Board of Directors.

He was also a key industry adviser through the SGIA ASSIST line.

Drehle is a 2005  inductee into the Academy of Screen and Digital Print Technologies (ASDPT).
