Alexey Parygin, born on December 2, 1964, in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation.
Art historian, art critic, professor of drawing and painting. Works as an art-director of the printing establishment. Well-known as a painter, also works on graphic arts, silkscreen. Member of Artists Union of Russia (Saint-Petersburg), member of Art Critics and Art Historians Association (AIS).
Author of more than 40 articles about the Art of Silkscreen. Books written and published: “The Art of Silkscreen. XX century (history, phenomenology, techniques, names)”, “Silkscreen As An Art. Techniques, history, phenomenology, artists” (both in Russian).
Governmental grant in the field of fine arts (1998).
A passionate collector of original prints.
Works and lives in Saint-Petersburg, Russian Federation.
More than 500 works are in state and private collections, including State Hermitage Museum, State Russian Museum, Russian State Library, Print section of Russian National Library, Muzeum Narodowe w Warszawie, Sächsische Landesbibliothek. Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek (Dresden) and others.
