Charles (Chuck) C. Tibbetts – (Sept 15, 1923 – November 9, 2010) – Tibbetts was born in Eagle Rock, California, and remained in Southern California throughout his life.

He was a World War II Veteran, serving as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army; a D-Day Survivor (Omaha Beach), a proud member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, awarded two Bronze Stars.

After serving his country in World War II, Tibbetts returned to graduate from Occidental College in Los Angeles and was a Member of the Squires Club of Los Angeles.

Tibbetts Westerfield Paint Company, Inc. began manufacturing screenprinting inks in 1922, a year before Chuck Tibbetts was born. After returning from serving his country, Chuck became the President of TW Graphics Group, one of the leaders in evolving screen printing from petroleum-based technology toward a more ecologically friendly water-based technology. They manufactured printing inks and high-performance coatings, developing and manufacturing innovative inks and high-performance coatings.

He served as Chairman of the U.S. Contest & Record Board and the United States Delegate to Federation Aeronautique International; he traveled extensively and helped document the achievements of the United States space program from 1957 through 1991. He was aboard the B-52 flight that established the Okinawa-to-Spain world record for unrefueled straight-line distance flight in January 1962.

Tibbetts was recognized by the Screen Printing and Graphic Imaging Association International for many contributions. He was a 1989 inductee into the Academy of Screen and Digital Print Technologies (ASDPT).

Chuck Tibbetts passed away at home surrounded by family on November 9, 2010, after a stubborn confrontation with cancer.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rose Marie “Sam;” brother, George; children, Jeffry (Stephanie), Melinda, Deborah, Christopher (Mari); 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and countless friends.
