Dave DenningsDavid “Dave” Dennings holds a Bachelor’s in Visual Communications Technology from Bowling Green (Ohio) State University, where he was first introduced to screenprinting.  Following graduation, he worked for four years as an area manager for a chain of retail portrait studios throughout the United States and England.

In 1987, at the suggestion of a college friend, he applied for a position with Tetko Inc. (now known as Sefar) in metropolitan New York. Working in the Applications Laboratory as a technical service representative, he quickly immersed himself in the technical aspects of screenmaking and printing.  Within a year, he was invited to speak on screenmaking at the Rochester Institute of Technology and SGIA ’87 in Houston.  Two years later, Dennings relocated to regional San Francisco in a technical sales position and worked closely with printed circuit board manufacturers throughout Silicon Valley.  He was a guest speaker at the California Circuits Association meetings and the Pacific Northwest Screen Printing Association. He conducted technical seminars at distributor open houses and published an article in Circuitree magazine on alleviating solder masks on pads using proper screenmaking techniques.

In 1994, Dennings accepted a position with KIWO Inc. responsible for sales development, distributor support, and technical training for screen printers in the Western United States, Western Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.  During this time, he was a guest lecturer at various universities in the United States, the Brisbane, Sydney, and Auckland Institutes of Technology, and various functions sponsored by Australia’s and New Zealand’s Screen Printing Associations.

In 2002, he was promoted to his present position as Technical/Screen Making Products Manager at Kiwo Inc.’s USA headquarters in Houston. His responsibilities include heading up the Applications Laboratory, assessing market needs, and developing products to meet those needs.  He continues to teach, write technical articles, and serve as a consultant, providing technical training and process audit, to screen printing companies across the United States.  In 2006, he was nominated for the Swormstedt Award for his two-part series, “Standardization in Screenmaking.”

Dennings is a 2006 inductee into the Academy of Screen and Digital Print Technologies (ASDPT).
