Franz Weiss – Holds U. S. Patent 1959992 (1931) for the wash-out printing screen method. This Chicago-based screen printer produced screens with such detail that his methods were employed by the screen printers who produced the Works Progress Administration (WPA) Projects in the 1930’s. Holds U. S. Patent 3,172,358 (1965) for the principle of vacuum apparatus allowing greater control over screen making.
