Lon Winters attended Doane University in Crete, Nebraska, where he received his BS and BA, studying Mathematics and Fine Arts in 1989.

After university, Lon worked at Ocean Pacific, where he began in the screen reclaim area and worked his way up as he learned the screenprinting process. At the age of 21, Lon Winters was made head of the production department at Ocean Pacific.

In 1993, Lon became the Founder & Managing Director of Graphic Elephants in Elizabeth, Colorado. The shop is an award-winning screenprint and embroidery shop, known as much for design and development as printing and embroidery skills. Lon has received over 50 international industry awards, including many SGIA Golden Image Awards, Printwear Awards, Impressions Awards, and FESPA Honors.

Lon founded Print This, Inc., which conducts popular seminars and workshops for manufacturers, vendors, and garment decorators.

He is also a leading industry expert, contributing articles and monthly columns for many industry trade magazines and exhibitions. Lon has consulted on projects worldwide and is considered a master creative problem solver.

Lon was inducted into the Academy of Screen and Digital Print Technologies (ASDPT) in 2013.
