Nancy Laurie Gray (1 May 1950 – 23 January 2023) was born in Brooklyn, New York, where she attended James Madison High School and then Studied at Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY.
Nancy started her career as a serigrapher but found the sales end of the industry exciting enough to change her focus.
Nancy was well-known to most in screenprinting, not only in the USA but throughout the American Continent, Europe, and Asia. She began her career with Advance Process.
Later, she began a long career with Stretch Devices, Inc., where she was first the Southeast USA Manager and then promoted to Latin America Manager after learning Spanish, which allowed her to help more individuals. In 2000, Nancy moved to Cuernavaca, Mexico, to be closer to her client base.
She also worked with Action Engineering, Encore Engineering, Fimor, Rutland Ink, and others over her long career.
In 2015, Nancy was inducted into the Academy of Screen and Digital Print Technologies (ASDPT).
During her tenure in screenprinting, Nancy came into contact with tens of thousands of screenmakers, printers, and others. She befriended everyone she interacted with, lending her expertise in every instance.
Not only did Nancy work with sales representatives of distributors, providing training, but she also worked with individuals in the trenches of screenprinting, spreading her extensive wisdom of the process.
In 2015, Nancy moved back to her home in Atlanta, Georgia, and in 2020, Nancy announced her official retirement from screenprinting. Nancy passed on January 23, 2023, shortly after surgery for a brain tumor.
