Sylve EricssonSylve J. D. Ericsson – (born 1944) – Ericsson is the Executive Vice President of Interchange Equipment, Inc. of Passaic, New Jersey, the full-service connection for new and reconditioned screenprinting equipment. He has been involved in the development and technical sales of screenprinting equipment for the international market for more than 40 years. Ericsson is well known through his articles and lectures within the screenprinting industry.

Ericsson served previously as Technical Director for SVECIA, the Swedish manufacturer of screenprinting machines and equipment. During his career, Ericsson has been instrumental in many revolutionary developments in screenprinting machines for the graphic, industrial, and glass markets, with more than 20 patented inventions.

In the early 90s, a group of experienced veterans of the screenprinting industry branched away from a well-known manufacturer and founded Interchange Equipment, Inc. Identifying the need for a quality alternative to higher-priced new equipment; the initial focus was to supply the industry with warrantied reconditioned machinery.

Over the years, Interchange’s evolution has included the design and manufacturing of their line of products: gas, electric and UV dryers; flash cure units; specialty material handling devices for the textile and graphic industries, as well as strategically formed alliances with some of the best screen printing manufacturers in the word.

Awards and Recognition

Ericsson was inducted into the Academy of Screen and Digital Print Technologies (ASDPT) in 1983.

He is the 1984 winner of the prestigious Swormstedt Award for his paper “Development and Research of High-Efficiency Jet Dryers and UV Curing Systems.”

Ericsson has also served as the European Screenprinting Manufacturers Association (ESMA) member of the TDS Committee.
