\"\"Joseph A. Fortwengler (September 26, 1925 – September 26, 2010) was born to the late Herman Fortwengler and Josephine Bencken Fortwengler in Louisville, Kentucky.<\/p>\n

As the youngest of eight children, Joe proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II and was present at the famous battle of Iwo Jima. After returning from the war, Joe enrolled at the University of Louisville where he received his bachelor’s degree in political science. He was also a member of the TKE fraternity.<\/p>\n

Joe worked for Ulano in sales for the majority of his adult life, along with his wife Francis Jean Fortwengler<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Joe is survived by his children, daughter and son-in-law, Susie and George Legh-Page of Houston, Texas, daughter, Nola Martellotti of Geneva and son, Tim Fortwengler of Prospect Heights; five grandchildren, David, Anna Parker Legh-Page of Houston, Texas, Daniel and Kathryn Legh-Page of Austin, Texas, Melissa Martellotti of Nashville, Tenn., Christopher Martellotti of San Francisco, Calif. and Jennifer Martellotti of Chicago; and one great-grandson, Parker Legh-Page. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Jean Fortwengler; his siblings, Alice, Albert, Helen, Edward, George, Herman Jr. and Mary Jo Fortwengler; and his son-in-law, Carlo Martellotti.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
