Temixco, a municipality in the state of Morelos with great cultural and agricultural wealth, is in a strategic position to diversify its economy.

Temixco (pronounced /te-mi-s-ko/, ant. Temizco|Temisco) is a Nahuatl toponym composed of the words: Te-tl, stone; Mizton, cat; and co, in, where, place of; meaning “Cat on stone.” Other interpretations suggest that the meaning could be: “On the stone cat or where the cat’s stone is.”

One of the alternatives with the greatest agroeconomic and tourism potential is the use of roses, a flower widely cultivated in the region and valued for its beauty, aroma, and therapeutic properties.

Transforming this flower into value-added products represents a significant opportunity to strengthen the local economy, create jobs, and position Temixco as a leader in agroindustrial and tourism innovation.

The rose is not only a symbol of love and beauty; it is also a raw material for a variety of cosmetic, culinary, and medicinal products. Worldwide, rose essential oils are highly valued in the perfume industry, while its petals are used in infusions, traditional sweets, soaps, creams, facial tonics, and even in gourmet cuisine.

In Temixco, the climatic conditions are favorable for its cultivation, which represents a competitive advantage. However, until now, the use of the rose has been limited mostly to its sale as an ornamental flower. Investing in its transformation is the next logical step toward a more sustainable and profitable economic model.

Rose production is also a tourist attraction, as the fields are accessible year-round and offer a wide variety of colors, including pink, white, yellow, and red, ideal for any special occasion or simply to brighten your day.

Visiting Temixco means experiencing the adventure of Agricultural Tourism, defined as a type of rural tourism where visitors participate in agricultural and livestock activities, learn about food production, and connect with the countryside and local culture.

It offers authentic experiences, such as harvesting, visiting farms or vineyards, and tasting local products. This also benefits rural producers by generating additional income and promoting sustainability.

You can easily visit us from downtown Temixco, taking Route 11, which passes through Rosales, or by private car. Access is convenient and direct, allowing you to arrive without any problems.
