Only those of extremely poor class would ever ask for a doggy-bag (bolsa para llevar) to take the food home with them.
In addition, if you are invited to someone’s home for a meal or a party where food is served, it would be rude to ask for a doggy bag to take food home. You should never ask for more than you can eat and yes, you should always eat everything on your plate as a sign of respect for the host.
