Barbara Waugh Passes

Barbara Buxton Waugh (October 30, 1931 – January 11, 2015) passed away peacefully at her home in Cuernavaca, Mexico, on Sunday, January 11, 2015.

Barbara was born on October 30, 1931, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Garrison Hanes Buxton Sr. and Virginia Buxton. She attended Sweet Briar College, a private women’s liberal arts college in Sweet Briar, Amherst County, Virginia, before transferring to the University of Oklahoma, where she completed her studies.

In 1954, Barbara married Robert Gene Waugh and moved to Norman, Oklahoma, where she started her family. The couple had three children, Anna Derrow, Buxton Waugh, and Blaine Waugh. In 1970, Barbara moved to Cuernavaca, Mexico, where she founded a successful real estate company, Barbara Waugh Properties.

Barbara is survived by her brother Garrison Buxton Jr., her three children, Anna Derrow, Buxton Waugh and Blaine Waugh, as well as five grandchildren. A memorial will take place in Cuernavaca, Mexico on Feb. 21, 2015 at 5 PM at Don Atilio Restaurant, C. Galeana 55, Acapantzingo, 62440 Cuernavaca.
